Darilo Chirino, M.D., received board-certification in family practice, December 2009 to the present. Dr. Chirino completed the family medicine residency program at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey, U.M.D.N.J., Medical School at the Hoboken University Medical Center, H.U.M.C., in Hoboken, New Jersey, June 2009. Earlier, he completed the internal medicine residency program at the Dr. Antonio Luaces Iraola General Hospital in Ciego de Avila, Cuba, 1998. Dr. Chirino earned his medical degree from the University of Medical Sciences of Havana as an Honor Graduate of the Cuban School of Medicine in Havana, Cuba, July 1995. He has served as a clinical preceptor for the Master of Science in Nursing degree program, Family Nurse Practitioner specialty, Chamberlain University College of Nursing, and as a voluntary clinical assistant professor of the Herbert Wertheim College of Medicine of Florida International University in Miami, Florida. Dr. Chirino is a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians, the Florida Academy of Family Physicians, and the American Board of Family Medicine. His research presentations include “Acute Diverticulitis in a 19-Year-Old Female,” U.M.D.N.J. Medical School, H.U.M.C., New Jersey, case report presented for Alumni Day 2007; “Cervical Cancer Screening at the Center for Family Health,” U.M.D.N.J. Medical School, H.U.M.C., New Jersey, QI/QA project presented for Alumni Day, May 2008; and “Aspirin Use as a Primary Prevention for Coronary Artery Disease at the Center for Family Health,” U.M.D.N.J. Medical School, H.U.M.C., New Jersey, QI/QA project presented for Research Day, May 2009. Dr. Chirino enjoys fishing and travel.
