Amarilis Vazquez, M.D., specializes in internal medicine. Dr. Vazquez completed a cardiology residency at the Jose Maria Cabral and Baez Regional Hospital in Santiago, Dominican Republic, July 1988 to June 1989, and an internal medicine residency at the Jose Maria Cabral and Baez Regional Hospital in Santiago, Dominican Republic, July 1986 to June 1988. She served medical externships at Cana Chapeton Clinic in Monte Cristi, Dominican Republic, July 1985 to June 1986, and medical internships at Jose Maria Cabral and Baez Regional Hospital and Dr. Arturo Grullon Hospital in Santiago, Dominican Republic, July 1984 to June 1985, with medical rotations in surgery, internal medicine, OB/ GYN, and pediatrics. She earned her medical degree from Pontificia Mother and Teacher Catholic University in Santiago, Dominican Republic, August 1979 to June 1985. Dr. Vazquez has completed postgraduate studies including a Review Course in Internal Medicine at the University of Miami in Miami, Florida, in 1996, 1998, 1999, 2001, 2003, and 2007; Update in Vascular Medicine at the Medical College of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, October 1994; When Doctors Confront Cancer at Cornell University Medical College in New York City, October 1992; and Care of the Patient with HIV Infection at Duke University Medical College in Durham, North Carolina, July 1992. Her research includes a medical thesis on the Relationship between Medical Disease and Psychiatric Disease, Santiago, Dominican Republic.
