Ariel Diaz, M.D., is board-certified through the American Board of Internal Medicine. Dr. Diaz performed a research fellowship at San Juan City Hospital, in charge of the San Juan City Hospital residency training program research, including presentations on the ACP annual event, and was acting chief resident on the supervision of morning reports. He completed an Internal Medicine Residency at San Juan City Hospital in San Juan Puerto Rico, September 2002 to August 2005, and a Family Practice Residency at the Superior Institute of Medical Sciences of Havana, Cuba, September 1996 to February 1998. Dr. Diaz served a rotating internship at Manuel Fajardo General Hospital in Havana, Cuba, September 1994 to July 1995, in specialties including OB-GYN, Family Practice, Internal Medicine and Pediatrics, and hospital settings including the ER, OR, ICU, CCU, hospital wards and outpatient services. He earned his medical degree from the Superior Institute of Medical Sciences of Havana, Cuba, from September 1989 to July 1995. Dr. Diaz has been recognized through the NCQA’s Diabetes Recognition Program (DRP). Clinicians who achieve DRP Recognition show their peers, patients and others in the Diabetes community that they are part of an elite group that is publicly recognized for its skill in providing the highest-level diabetes care.
