Mariano Salvador Lacayo, MD, specializes in internal medicine. He earned his Doctor of Medicine degree from the University of Miami School of Medicine and completed his Internal Medicine residency at Brody School of Medicine at East Carolina University. Dr. Lacayo brought more than 20 years of experience caring for adult and older adult patients in primary care and hospital-based settings. Throughout his career, he provided comprehensive care focused on preventive medicine, chronic disease management, and improving quality of life. His experience included roles as a hospitalist and primary care physician across multiple healthcare organizations in South Florida. Dr. Lacayo believes that taking the time to listen to patients is key to improving their quality of life and health. He entered healthcare because it provides the privilege of helping better the lives of people of all ages and is especially passionate about diabetes, heart health, and obesity management. Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with family, listening to music, and enjoying the outdoors.
