Mercedes J. Pino, DO, specializes in Internal Medicine. Dr. Pino completed a residency in internal medicine at the University of Miami Jackson Memorial Hospital in 1997. Dr. Pino earned her medical degree from Southern College of Osteopathic Medicine in North Miami Beach, Florida, and did a rotating internship at Boston General Hospital in Farmington Hills, Michigan. She is a member of the American Osteopathic Association, AOA, and the American College of Physicians, ACP. Dr. Pino has been honored with the Bishop Roman Scholarship Award in 1984, was listed in the Who’s Who Among Students in American Universities and Colleges and won the 1989 National Hispanic Scholarship Fund Scholar Award. She is also proficient in speaking both the Spanish and the English languages. She enjoys going to the movies, travel, reading, and praying. Dr. Pino has been recognized through the NCQA’s Diabetes Recognition Program (DRP). Clinicians who achieve DRP Recognition show their peers, patients and others in the Diabetes community that they are part of an elite group that is publicly recognized for its skill in providing the highest-level diabetes care.
