Alexandra Silva Plazas, M.D., FAAP, is a pediatrician board-certified by the American Board of Pediatrics, and she is a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics. She earned her medical degree from Our Lady of the Rosary University Medical School, graduating in the top 10%, Scholar Candidate, Dean's List, and Honor Roll in 1996. She obtained training in clinical epidemiology and critical appraisal of medical literature at Our Lady of the Rosary University in Bogota, Colombia, in 1997. Dr. Plazas completed residency at Bronx Lebanon Hospital Center and Montefiore Hospital endorsed by Albert Einstein College of Medicine, part of Yeshiva University, from 2000-2003. Dr. Plazas served as an Attending Physician in multiple hospitals in the State of Florida Including: North Okaloosa Medical Center, Memorial Health System and Plantation General Hospital. She practiced in multiple private practices In New York State and Florida until joining Amicus in 2015, then Conviva in 2022. Her areas of interest include care for Infectious Diseases, Vaccines and Asthma. In her free time, Dr. Plazas enjoys reading, traveling, and spending quality time with her family and friends.
