Dr. Alyssa Kate Benjamin, DO, specializes in Geriatric Medicine. She earned her Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from Nova Southeastern University Dr. Kiran C. Patel College of Osteopathic Medicine. Dr. Benjamin completed an Internal Medicine residency at the University of Miami at Holy Cross Hospital, where she was recognized as Resident of the Year for 2023-2024, and pursued advanced training through a Geriatric Medicine Fellowship at Florida Atlantic University. Her experience has focused on caring for older adults and promoting healthy aging, with a particular interest in heart health, caregiving, and reducing loneliness and social isolation among seniors. Dr. Benjamin believes that taking the time to listen to patients is key to improving their quality of life and health. Throughout her training, she contributed to quality improvement initiatives, research, peer-reviewed publications, and community service, while also serving in leadership and mentoring roles for medical students and professional organizations. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with family and enjoying the outdoors.
