Dr. Antonio E. Gutierrez Mendiola, a board-certified family medicine specialist, completed his family medicine residency at Mayaguez Medical Center in 2024, following a medical internship at Auxilio Mutuo Hospital in Puerto Rico in 2021, and family medicine residencies at Amalia Simoni Hospital in Camaguey, Cuba, in 2012. Dr. Gutierrez Mendiola earned his medical degree summa cum laude from the University of Medical Sciences of Camaguey in 2010. He has co-authored research and presented findings at medical conferences, including the Academy of Family Physicians, Puerto Rico chapter, and the ACP Puerto Rico chapter. Dr. Gutierrez Mendiola volunteered and treated patients in Cuba, Venezuela, Colombia and Puerto Rico before completing his residencies and joining our center in 2024. With extensive experience working with older adults, he is committed to treating his patients with the same time, dedication, and care that he would give to his own loved ones. Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with family and friends, traveling, exercising, playing front tennis, and the beach.
