Carlos A. Vazquez Santiago, M.D., specializes in family medicine. At Conviva Care Center Congress, he leads a team of compassionate, patient-focused primary care professionals with a commitment to medical excellence. Dr. Vazquez Santiago completed a transitional residency at Damas Hospital in Ponce, Puerto Rico. He earned his medical degree from the Autonomous University of Guadalajara, Mexico. He obtained a Bachelor of Science in General Sciences from the Pontifical Catholic University of Puerto Rico in Ponce, Puerto Rico. He has attended numerous post-doctoral courses and seminars, including the Second Immunization Congress on the Prevention of Vaccine-Preventable Diseases; Diabetes Post-Graduate Course & Puerto Rican Endocrinology and Diabetics Society Meeting; and Update for Primary Physician in Tumoral Markers. His vast research background includes studies on HIV, Diabetes, and Hepatitis B and C, as a sub-investigator with Ararat Research Center in Ponce, Puerto Rico. Before joining Conviva in 2022, he practiced with MedFlorida Medical Centers in Florida; American Care in Florida; and Med Centro Health Council in Ponce, Puerto Rico, where he treated patients who had HIV. His experience in hospital settings includes Andres Grillasca Oncology Hospital in Ponce, Puerto Rico and as an emergency room physician at Santa Rosa Hospital in Guayama, Puerto Rico. For over six years, he provided addiction medicine program detox and maintenance of substance abuse with AIDA of Puerto Rico in Ponce, Puerto Rico. Dr. Vazquez Santiago is a member of the Medical Association of Puerto Rico and the College of Medical Surgeons of Puerto Rico. He enjoys spending time with his family.
