Dr. Carlos A. Vazquez Santiago specializes in family medicine. At Conviva, he leads a team of compassionate, patient-focused primary care professionals with a commitment to medical excellence. Dr. Vazquez Santiago completed a transitional residency at Damas Hospital in Ponce, Puerto Rico, earning his medical degree from the Autonomous University of Guadalajara, Mexico, and has attended post-doctoral courses and seminars. He received his B.S. in General Sciences from the Pontifical Catholic University of Puerto Rico. His vast research background includes studies as a sub-investigator with Ararat Research Center in Ponce, PR. Before joining Conviva in 2022, Dr. Vazquez Santiago saw patients with MedFlorida Medical Centers, American Care in Florida, and Med Centro Health Council in Puerto Rico, where he treated patients who had HIV. His experience in hospital settings includes Andres Grillasca Oncology Hospital in Ponce, Puerto Rico, and as an emergency room physician at Santa Rosa Hospital in Guayama, Puerto Rico. For over six years, he provided addiction medicine program detox and maintenance with AIDA of Puerto Rico. Outside of his work, enjoys spending time with his family.
