Dr. Dania Isabel Antunez has joined Conviva as an internal medicine specialist. Dr. Antunez completed her internal medicine residency at New York Medical College Metropolitan Hospital Center in New York, New York, in 2023. She earned her medical degree from Guantanamo University of Medical Sciences in Cuba, in 2012. Her distinctions include a Golden Award for graduating among the top 80 percentile of her medical school, her appointment as Assistant CMR in the Department of Medicine at NYMC Metropolitan Hospital, and her leadership as Chair of the House Staff GME Committee at the same institution. Her research, 'Tracheomegaly secondary to COVID-19-related pulmonary fibrosis,' was presented at the ATS International Conference in 2022. Before joining Conviva in 2023, Dr. Antunez was an internal medicine resident at New York Medical College Metropolitan Hospital Center. Earlier in her career, she practiced as an endoscopist and primary care physician at Bolivar y Marti Diagnostic Center in Caracas, Venezuela. With a genuine affection for older adults, she believes that listening to her patients is instrumental in enhancing their health and well-being, a care philosophy aligning with Conviva's values. With a passion for heart health, Dr. Antunez chose medicine to positively change people's lives by prioritizing their health Outside of her work, she enjoys the outdoors, quality time with family, and cooking.
