Dr. Dianela Medina Vega joined Conviva as a board-certified family medicine specialist. Dr. Medina Vega completed her family medicine residency at the University of Puerto Rico School of Medicine and family medicine and ophthalmology residencies at the University of Medical Sciences of Havana, Cuba, honored with the Mario Muñoz Monroe Award for Academic Excellence. She served a rotating internship with HIMA San Pablo Group and a family medicine internship at the University of Puerto Rico School of Medicine. She earned her medical degree from the University of Medical Sciences of Santiago, Cuba. Dr. Medina Vega is a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians and the American Medical Association. Her poster presentations include the National Conference of Family Medicine Residents and Students. Recognized for her medical contributions to the Three Hundred Thousand Miracles (the first 300,000 cataract and pterygium surgeries performed in underserved populations in Venezuela), she volunteered with the Henry Reeve Medical Brigade, caring for the victims of Hurricane Stan in Guatemala. In her free time, she enjoys life with her family, exploring the outdoors, and traveling.
