He earned his medical degree from Guntur Medical College, India, and conducted post-doctoral research at Johns Hopkins. His honors include the Best Sessions Physician award from Caritas Health Care, NY. From 2013 to 2023, Dr. Chintakayala was a hospitalist at James A. Haley Veterans Hospital, Tampa, FL. He previously worked at Montefiore Medical Center after a fellowship in palliative care and pain medicine at James J Peters VA Medical Center. He also held roles at St. Alban's VA Extended Care Center and Pilgrim Psychiatric Center in NY. Affiliated with the American Geriatric Society and the American Academy of Family Physicians, Dr. Chintakayala chose medicine to make a difference in people's lives. He prioritizes listening and is passionate about exercise, having studied its effects on well-being, diabetes, obesity, and heart health. In his free time, he enjoys traveling, the outdoors, and making memories with his family.
