Dr. Edel Herranz specializes in adult and geriatric primary care. He earned a Master of Science in Acute Care Geriatric Nurse Practitioner from Walden University in Minneapolis, Minnesota and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Chamberlain College in Chicago, Illinois. Dr. Herranz served as a nurse practitioner in primary care and correctional healthcare settings, managing acute and chronic conditions with an emphasis on preventive care and men's health. Earlier in his career, he worked as a registered nurse in cardiac catheterization laboratories, emergency departments and vascular access services, building extensive experience in cardiovascular care. He also served as a clinical preceptor and mentor, helping support the development of nursing professionals. Guided by a philosophy of helping patients make healthier choices, he is passionate about heart health, nutrition, exercise and obesity prevention. Outside of work, Dr. Herranz enjoys traveling, spending time with family, listening to music and caring for his dogs.
