Elena Acosta, FNP-C, a board-certified family nurse practitioner, earned her FNP certification from Miami Regional University in 2024, following her registered nurse training at the International Institute for Health Care Professionals in Boca Raton, FL. A foreign-trained physician specializing in gastroenterology, she received her medical degree from the School of Medicine in Matanzas, Cuba. Before joining us as a family nurse practitioner in 2024, Ms. Acosta served as a case coach and care navigator with Conviva Care Centers. Her prior roles include registered nurse and case manager with Carte Home Health, a clinical research coordinator at Palm Beach Research Center, and a chronic care RN at MMR Healthcare. Known for her compassionate, attentive approach to care, she believes listening to patients is vital to improving their quality of life. 'I love to see what they can accomplish when they are engaged in their health,' she shared. Ms. Acosta chose healthcare to make a difference in people's lives by putting their health first and is passionate about diabetes, heart health, and brain health. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with family, traveling, and the outdoors.
