Idalmis Santana-Porben, M.D., is certified as a Diplomate of the American Board of Family Medicine. Dr. Santanta-Porben completed a Family Medicine Residency at Dr. Ramon Ruiz Arnauz University Hospital in Bayamon, Puerto Rico. She dedicates time to assisting Universities to develop safe clinicians for the future, sharing clinical expertise with ARNPs and M.D. students and has received acknowledgement by the NCQA for her patient-centered coordinated care management process and through the DRP diabetes recognition program. Dr. Santanta-Porben earned her medical degree from the Institute of Higher Studies of Medical Sciences, in Havana, Cuba, and is a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians and the Florida Academy of Family Physicians. Dr. Santanta-Porben has been recognized through the NCQA’s Diabetes Recognition Program (DRP). Clinicians who achieve DRP Recognition show their peers, patients and others in the Diabetes community that they are part of an elite group that is publicly recognized for its skill in providing the highest-level diabetes care. She enjoys time with family and friends, kite-surfing, rock climbing, hiking, camping, and any outdoor activities, being responsible with her actions in making the world a better place to live, being a role model for her family, friends and coworkers, and protecting our environment as a conscious consumer.
