Dr. Jennifer La is a fellowship-trained, board-certified family medicine physician specializing in geriatrics and passionate about diabetes, nutrition, and brain health. Dr. La completed her geriatrics fellowship in 2023 and her family medicine residency in 2022 at CHRISTUS Spohn/Texas A&M where she served as Chief resident. Dr. La earned her medical degree from the University of Texas (UT) Health at San Antonio and participated in the Medical Student Training in Aging Research Program. She holds a B.A. in Plan II Honors and Biology from UT Austin. Her accolades include the Chief Resident in Family Medicine Award, the Salim Surani, M.D., Excellence in Research Award, the Victor C. Calma, M.D., Award for Best Intern Resident, and the John S. Primomo, M.D., Excellence in Geriatrics Scholarship. Dr. La worked during her residency and fellowship at the Family Medicine Academic Center and per diem at WellMed at Morgan, Corpus Christi. In her free time, she enjoys martial arts, cooking, family gatherings, and traveling.
