Dr. Jimmy Arturo Tavarez Garcia, MD, is a family medicine physician who earned his Doctor of Medicine degree from Universidad Autónoma de Santo Domingo in the Dominican Republic and completed his Family Medicine residency at New York Medical College Saint Joseph's Medical Center. His experience included providing care across outpatient, inpatient, emergency, critical care and nursing home settings, with significant exposure to caring for older adults during residency and through affiliations with long-term care facilities. Dr. Tavarez Garcia also served in roles focused on quality improvement, clinical documentation and care coordination, developing a strong understanding of population health and patient-centered care. He contributed to the education and mentorship of medical students and resident physicians and was recognized with both the Resident Teaching Award and the Rhea M. Barton Family Health Center Award for excellence in patient care and teaching. Outside of work, he enjoys reading books, spending time with family and going to the movies.
