Maricela Selene Pacheco, M.D., specializes in family medicine. At Conviva Bayside, she leads a team of compassionate, patient-focused primary care professionals with a commitment to medical excellence. Dr. Pacheco performed a geriatric medicine fellowship at Christus Health-Spohn Texas A&M in Corpus Christi, Texas, from June 2020 to June 2021. She completed a family medicine residency at Christus Health-Spohn Texas A&M in Corpus Christi, Texas, from June 2017 to June 2020. She earned her medical degree from Texas Tech University Health Science Center in El Paso, Texas, in 2017. She received a Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of Texas-Pan American, in Edinburg, Texas, in 2012. Dr. Pacheco’s research and presentations include “Geospatial Analysis of Type 2 Diabetes Control in a South Texas Metropolitan Area Family Medicine Clinic Population,” presented at the 2019 Society for Teaching Family Medicine Conference in Toronto, Canada. She served as a volunteer research assistant on studies including • “Analysis of Diabetes Education and Empowerment Program (DEEP) implementation in a Hispanic Population along the United States-Mexico Border;” • “Disordered Eating Habits in Young Adulthood and Prenatal Sex Hormone Exposure via Sexually Dimorphic 2D:4D ratio of human hands;” • And “Disordered Eating and Effects on Learning in the Rat Model;” (bibliography available upon request). Dr. Pacheco has served as a volunteer physician, Gabbard Health Room, Corpus Christi, Texas; volunteer physician, Sports Physicals, Corpus Christi, Texas; volunteer, Gigi’s Playhouse, El Paso, Texas; and pharmacy volunteer, Baptist Clinic, El Paso, Texas. She enjoys painting, woodblock printing, and baking, as well as competitive trivia and travel.
