Dr. Michael Edward Townsend, MD, specializes in internal medicine and earned his medical degree from the University of Arkansas College of Medicine. He completed his internal medicine internship and residency at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences, where he also served as a house officer with the North Little Rock Veterans Administration Hospital. Dr. Townsend practiced as an internal medicine physician at Rogers Diagnostic Clinic and later at East Volusia Internal Medicine Associates before serving as Medical Director at the Health Centers of Daytona Beach. He continued his career with Coastal Internal Medicine Specialists and subsequently with the Advent Healthcare System, caring for adult and senior patients throughout his decades-long career. Dr. Townsend's approach to care centers on listening closely to his patients to enhance their quality of life. He is passionate about diabetes, heart health, and brain health, and has dedicated his entire career to serving seniors. Outside of work, he enjoys reading books, traveling, and spending time with his family.
