Moraima Irene Batista Carmona, MD, graduated from the Superior Institute of Medical Science Havana with a Doctor in Medicine degree. She is board certified through the American Society for Clinical Pathology as a Histotechnologist. Dr. Batista has extensive experience in anatomical clinical pathology, having worked in various hospitals and medical facilities in Cuba, Zambia, and the United States. Her work includes gross examinations of surgical specimens, microscopic examinations of stained tissue sections, intraoperative frozen sections diagnosis, and performing clinical necropsies. Dr. Batista has also served as a medical doctor in Puerto Rico and Florida, where she examined patients, obtained medical histories, performed diagnostic tests, and counseled patients on diet, hygiene, and preventive health care. Outside of work, Dr. Batista enjoys spending time outdoors, listening to music, and being with her family. She is passionate about exercise, heart health, socialization, nutrition, and brain health, and believes that listening to her patients is key to improving their quality of life and health.
