Dr. Nanako Broughton, a board-certified internal and obesity medicine specialist, completed her internal medicine residency at Good Samaritan Hospital of Maryland, a Johns Hopkins affiliate. Dr. Broughton came from a family with a long line of doctors. Early in her medical career, she specialized and certified in Anesthesiology. She has practiced in rural to large cities where she had her sole private practice in Washington DC near the White House. Dr. Broughton has dedicated time to nonprofit organizations. Her main medical professional focus is to provide exceptional quality care to patients focusing on preventive care and improving their quality of life. Several goals are to provide timely, effective, empathetic patient-centered care of the highest quality. A major objective is to help patients focus on what they want to accomplish and help guide them to their best healthcare goals. She is an ACP Fellow nominee and AMA member, recognized by the Japanese Care Fund for community service. She is a PADI-certified scuba instructor and enjoys family time, photography, and travel.
