Dr. Pedro Jorge Hernandez-Rios is a Board-Certified Internal Medicine specialist. Dr. Hernandez-Rios completed his residency in internal medicine at St. Barnabas Hospital, affiliated with Cornell Medical Center and New York Hospital in the Bronx, NY. He earned his medical degree from the University of Costa Rica. His accolades include being one of the youngest medical graduates in Costa Rica in 1981, a scholarship for academic excellence, and recognition as 'the Most Compassionate Geriatrician” by HealthTap On-Line. Dr. Hernandez-Rios was the Medical Director of two of the PCC (Physician Care Centers) in Boca Raton and Deerfield Beach. He previously worked with East Hollywood Medical Associates, providing acute and chronic care to geriatric patients for ten years. He practiced as an attending physician in internal medicine at Humana Healthcare HMO for three years. Dr. Hernandez-Rios chose medicine for the immense privilege of helping people of all ages. He has served as a guest speaker, musician, and international volunteer through the Catholic Church. In his free time, he enjoys traveling and making memories with his wife, children, and grandchildren.
