Dr. Prashanth R. Rao joined Conviva as a board-certified internal medicine specialist. Dr. Rao completed his internal medicine residency at the University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign after a rotating internship at Christus Santa Rosa Medical Center in San Antonio, TX. He earned his medical degree from the University of Mysore Medical College in Mysore, India. Dr. Rao's research has been published in Investigative Ophthalmology & Visual Science and Methods in Molecular Medicine. He has presented to the Cardiology Journal Club and participated in physician advisory groups at North Central Baptist Hospital in San Antonio, TX, and Banner Gateway Hospital in Gilbert, AZ. Before joining Conviva, Dr. Rao was a senior partner with Sound Physicians, worked in the Banner eICU, and was a site co-director of one of the country's first non-ICU inpatient telemedicine platforms. He believes in the value of incorporating emerging technologies into enhancing healthcare for everyone and is a passionate advocate of proven aspects of integrative and lifestyle medicine. Married and the father of two lovely children, Dr. Rao enjoys hiking, tennis, and skiing and is a PADI-certified SCUBA diver.
