Rafael A. Palmerola, M.D., specializes in family medicine. At Conviva Westland, he leads a team of patient-focused professionals who provide compassionate primary care with a dedication to medical excellence. Dr. Palmerola completed residencies in internal medicine and family medicine, both at UPMC McKeesport Hospital in McKeesport, Pennsylvania, 08/1991-09/30/1999. Dr. Palmerola earned his medical degree from the Universidad Central del Este UCE in San Pedro de Macoris, Dominican Republic, in a combined program of undergraduate studies and medical school. He received a bachelor's degree in biological science from Miami Dade Community College, 12/80. Dr. Palmerola is affiliated with Jackson Memorial Hospital, 01/2000 - present; Larken Hospital 11/25/03 - present; Saint Annes NH 05/2003 - present; the University of Miami Department of Family Medicine (volunteer staff preceptor); and Barry University (clinical professor), 01/2001 - present. He he was honored among Outstanding Young Americans in 1998. Dr. Palmerola enjoys fishing, car restorations, travel, and dining.
