Sanya Irene Diaz, APRN, a board-certified family nurse practitioner, earned her Master of Science in Nursing, Family Nurse Practitioner, as well as her BSN from Florida International University. A foreign-educated physician, Ms. Diaz holds a medical degree from the University of San Andres in La Paz, Bolivia. Her accolades include Delta Epsilon Iota Academic Honor Society induction, the National Student Dean's List, and the Helen Fuld Health Trust award. Ms. Diaz teaches geriatric medicine at Florida Atlantic University, and she has co-authored research in medical publications such as the Journal of the American Geriatrics Society. Before joining our center in 2020, Ms. Diaz gained over 660 hours of clinical training at South Florida State Hospital, Central Medical Group, and the Cardiovascular Center of SF. She managed aging-focused projects and acute care transfer initiatives at Florida Atlantic University and contributed to quality improvement research at Boca Raton Regional Hospital. Ms. Diaz chose healthcare because of her compassion for seniors and commitment to health equity, safeguarding their quality of life. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her family.
