Sonia Carolina Deaton, PA-C, is a board-certified physician assistant. She earned a Master of Physician Assistant Studies from the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley in 2022. She also holds a Master of Science in Respiratory Care from UT Health Science Center-San Antonio and a Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Sciences from Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi. A Pi Alpha National Honor Society of Physician Assistants member, her honors include the Dean's List, Driscoll Children's Hospital Scholar, and International Service Learning Scholarship to Costa Rica recipient. Ms. Deaton was a registered respiratory therapist at Rio Grande Regional, Methodist Stone Oak, Ascension, and Northeast Baptist hospitals. Ms. Deaton chose healthcare out of a passion for helping others and serving her community. She has logged over 450 volunteer hours with organizations such as the American Heart Association, Habitat for Humanity, and Driscoll Children's Hospital. Outside of work, she enjoys family time and the outdoors.
