Summera Ijaz, MD, is an Internal Medicine physician with a strong interest in geriatric medicine and comprehensive patient care. She earned her Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery degree from Nishtar Medical College & Hospital in Pakistan and later completed advanced training in Internal Medicine, Hospice and Palliative Medicine and Geriatric Medicine. Throughout her career, Dr. Ijaz cared for adults and older adults in outpatient, inpatient, hospice, palliative care and nursing home settings. Her experience included managing chronic conditions, conducting comprehensive geriatric assessments and coordinating interdisciplinary care. She served in leadership roles as Chief Resident and Chief Medical Officer and contributed to medical education as a teacher and mentor. Dr. Ijaz believes in providing compassionate, patient-centered and evidence-based care while treating every patient with dignity and respect. She is proud to be the spouse of a United States military veteran and values service, dedication and commitment to the community. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with family, cooking and listening to music.
