Marissa Nicole Sunnekalb, DNP, APRN, FNP BC, is a cardiology-focused nurse practitioner with clinical experience spanning inpatient cardiovascular care, primary care, and military medicine. She earned her Doctor of Nursing Practice from the University of Missouri and her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from The Pennsylvania State University. Dr. Sunnekalb has provided comprehensive, evidence based care to adults with complex cardiac conditions, including acute coronary syndromes, heart failure, and cardiac arrhythmias, working closely with interdisciplinary care teams to coordinate treatment and improve outcomes. A United States Air Force veteran, she was inspired to pursue cardiology after witnessing significant cardiovascular care gaps affecting senior veterans and their families. She has extensive experience caring for seniors and prioritizes reducing polypharmacy, supporting activities of daily living, and promoting overall health and independence. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with family, reading, and traveling.
