Dr. Martita Marcano Perez has joined Conviva Care Centers as a fellowship-trained, board-certified internal medicine specialist. Dr. Marcano Perez distinguished herself as chief resident of the Infectious Diseases Fellowship Program at VA Caribbean Health System in San Juan, PR, and the Internal Medicine Residency Program at Ramon Ruiz Arnau University Hospital in Bayamon, PR. She earned her medical degree cum laude from the San Juan Bautista School of Medicine and a Bachelor of Science in Biology cum laude from the University of Puerto Rico. She has co-authored research published in the Biophysical Journal. Before joining Conviva in 2023, Dr. Marcano Perez practiced internal medicine with Reliance Medical Centers in Lakeland, Florida, responsible for value-based care management, and Phoenician Medical Center and La Familia Clinic Glendale, Arizona, caring for adult patients with chronic conditions. Dr. Marcano Perez has a particular affinity for her older adult patients, emphasizing the prevention and treatment of age-related illnesses. She believes listening to her patients is vital to help enhance their health and well-being, a philosophy perfectly aligned with Conviva's compassionate approach to care. Dr. Marcano Perez chose a medical career driven by a passion for positively impacting people's lives. Outside of work, she cherishes spending time with her family and enjoys the rejuvenating experiences of the great outdoors.
