Mrs. Ruth Heather-Dawn Gobourne, MSN, APRN, AGNP-C, is a board-certified Adult-Gerontology Primary Care Nurse Practitioner with more than 20 years of nursing experience and over eight years of independent primary care practice. She earned her Master of Science in Nursing from Florida Southern College in Lakeland, Florida. Throughout her career, Mrs. Gobourne provided comprehensive primary care for adult and geriatric patients, managing acute and chronic conditions, developing individualized treatment plans, and promoting disease prevention through patient education. She also served as a Clinical Nurse Instructor, helping guide and mentor future nurses in clinical practice. Earlier in her career, she worked as a medical-surgical and oncology nurse, caring for patients with complex healthcare needs. Mrs. Gobourne is passionate about diabetes care, heart health, and addressing loneliness and social connection among older adults. She believes in empowering patients and care teams through education, accurate information, and lifelong learning. Outside of work, Mrs. Gobourne enjoys spending time with family, traveling, and reading.
