Mrs. Yolanda Alvarez Pando, MD, is a Family Medicine physician with extensive experience in primary care and global health. She earned her medical degree from Instituto Superior de Ciencias Médicas de la Habana, Cuba, and completed her Family Medicine residency at the same institution. Her career spans over two decades, including roles as a family physician, hospital doctor, and primary care provider in diverse settings such as Cuba, Namibia, Puerto Rico, and the United States. She has managed complex chronic conditions, provided preventive care, and collaborated with interdisciplinary teams to ensure patient-centered care. Dr. Alvarez Pando has also served as a healthcare educator and medical interpreter, reflecting her commitment to communication and cultural competence. Guided by her philosophy of treating patients with the same dedication she would offer loved ones, she is passionate about heart health, diabetes management, and addressing social isolation. Outside of work, she enjoys traveling, listening to music, and spending time outdoors.
