Dr. Alina Rivera, a board-certified internal medicine specialist, completed her residency at Woodhull Medical and Mental Health Center in Brooklyn, NY, affiliated with New York University School of Medicine 2015. Dr. Rivera earned her medical degree from the University of Medical Sciences in Havana, Cuba, in 1992. Her accolades include Student of Exceptional Performance and Medical Excellence Resident of the Year. She then specialized in ophthalmology and worked as an attending physician. Dr. Rivera has co-authored research such as 'Complications of YAG Laser Capsulotomy' at Miguel Enrique Hospital and participated in the multi-center study 'Anticoagulation with factor Xa, Next Generation in Atrial Fibrillation (ENGAGE-AF TIMI48).” Before joining our center in 2024, Dr. Rivera practiced internal medicine at Elite Health Medical Group in Pembroke Pines, FL. She is passionate about managing diabetes and heart disease. With extensive experience in senior care, Rivera prioritizes listening to her patients to enhance their health and well-being. Dr. Rivera chose medicine to serve others. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her family, the outdoors, and listening to music.
