Ivan Del Rio, M.D. completed an internal medicine residency at Illinois Masonic Medical Center in Chicago and served as Chief Resident of Internal Medicine in 1994. He completed a residency in pediatrics at the University of Illinois in Chicago, Illinois in 1991, and completed a sub internship at the Swedish Covenant Hospital in Chicago, Illinois. He earned his medical degree from the Medical School of the Central University of the East in San Pedro de Macoris, Dominican Republic, in 1985. As an undergraduate, he received a Bachelor of Science in biology from Loyola University in Chicago, Illinois, in 1981. Dr. Del Rio is a member of the American Medical Association and an associate member of the American College of Physicians. Dr. Del Rio is the 1993 Recipient of the Norris L. Brookens Memorial Award for exemplary dedication to the medical profession. Dr. Del Rio has been recognized through the NCQAs Diabetes Recognition Program (DRP).
